May 29, 2008 - Hospital Foundation Awards Scholarships - Snoqualmie, WA
Snoqualmie, WA (May 29, 2008) -- The Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Foundation announces Jessica Lynch and Cayce Munger as this year’s winning recipients for the second annual competitive Scholarship Awards to Dependent Children of Hospital District employees.
Jessica Lynch, daughter of Angela Lynch who works in Patient Insurance Verification, is awarded a $1000 scholarship. Jessica will be attending Western Washington University this fall as a Sophomore with English as her major. Her dream is to help educate others with the knowledge she gains by writing novels that enlighten people, and poetry that gives others a new point of view.
Cayce Munger, daughter of Radiology Technician Kimberlee Munger, is an entering Freshman to Washington State University and is awarded a $500 scholarship. Cayce looks forward to her University experience as a way to develop critical thinking skills and expand her knowledge of different cultures, which she hopes will include some study abroad.
Awarding these scholarships to dependent children of hospital district employees is just one of several ways the Foundation fulfills its mission to support a comprehensive, community based and self-sustaining health care system. In June, two similar Foundation funded scholarships will be awarded to local Mt. Si High School students pursuing a career in healthcare.
The Hospital Foundation thanks all who submitted applications and congratulates Jessica and Cayce for their winning entries.
